I work with a diverse range of clients, supporting individuals experiencing depression, stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and life transitions, while also offering specialist support for those affected by religious trauma.

A little about me

I’m Mattia, a BACP-registered counsellor offering face-to-face therapy in North London and online across the UK. I support adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and religious or spiritual harm.

I offer sessions in both English and Italian, so you can express yourself in the way that feels most natural to you.

I know how vulnerable it can feel to reach out for support, because I’ve been there too. My own experiences with therapy and recovery shape the way I work: with care, honesty, and compassion. My aim is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and able to explore whatever you’re carrying.

Why work with me

Therapy with me is about moving at your pace, reconnecting with yourself, and finding a way forward that feels right for you.

Anxiety & Depression

A supportive space to navigate difficult moods and racing thoughts. Together, we work gently to understand your feelings and find a steadier path forward.

You can choose between long-term or short-term work, depending on your needs. Sessions are available face-to-face in North London or online, offering flexibility while supporting a steady, thoughtful process at your own pace.

Services & Areas of Support

Trauma , Relationships & Spirituality

Healing from past experiences to build safer connections in the present. We foster the security needed to navigate life and relationships with clarity and ease.

Identity, Self-Worth & Shame

Support in understanding who you are, softening harsh self-criticism, and rebuilding a kinder, more grounded sense of self.

How We Walk This Path Together

As a psychodynamic therapist, I see how present struggles are often shaped by earlier experiences. Gently exploring these can help you make sense of patterns, shift how you relate to yourself and others, and find new ways of moving forward. I firmly believe that therapy is a collaborative journey. My practice is grounded in creating a secure, safe environment where you’ll be met with understanding and where you can explore your inner world  and things that you might find hard to share elsewhere, at your own pace.

Safety & Trust

I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the vehicle towards change. We begin by building a firm foundation of safety, ensuring you feel held and heard from our very first meeting in a space that is entirely yours.

Deep Exploration

Through gentle enquiry, we look at the patterns, beliefs, coping mechanisms of your past, to understand how they influence your life today, uncovering the "why" behind the "what".

Change & Growth

Together, we identify the tools and resilience already within you, fostering a path towards lasting emotional clarity, empowerment, and wholeness.

Healing After Religious Trauma

Cult recovery and recovery from spiritual abuse and high-control religious environments is a deeply personal and nuanced journey. I provide a compassionate, and safe space where we can work together to deconstruct these experiences, reclaim your personal autonomy, and find a path forward that feels uniquely yours.

My trauma-informed approach gives you a safe, non-judgemental space to:

• Understand how coercive control has affected you
• Unlearn harmful messages or beliefs
• Rebuild confidence, trust in yourself, and a sense of identity

I provide a compassionate, safe, and non-judgmental space where we can work together to deconstruct these experiences, reclaim your personal autonomy, and find a path forward that feels uniquely yours.

Quiet Reflections

Here, I share small pieces of insight, stories, and research to support your journey.

A THOUGHT from MY Practice

“Therapy is not about erasing your past, but about learning to sit with it gently, so it no longer decides who you are becoming.”
